Dorris Van Doren Regional Library hosted a tie-dye party for our Teen Hangout group. Our teens were provided with t-shirts to dye in whatever colors they wanted.
They learned how to create different patterns based on how they bundled their shirts. Then they banded them and applied the dye. They also got the opportunity to mix their own dye based on the instructions provided to them.
While we didn't get to see the finished products of their creations (tie-dye needs 6-8 hours to set). We could already see the interesting patterns they were creating.
It was a fun program and put our teens in a Spring Break mindset in preparation for their approaching vacation from school.
